Top Left: Zakki (1850-1902) – Native of Derbent. Real name Agheksandr Tavakalian. Later Father Pakrad Tavakalian. Studied in the Russian colleges of Tiflis/Tbilisi, Baku and the military academy of St. Petersburg. Left school in 1879 and moved to Tiflis/Tbilisi, and then to Van in 1880, where he became a teacher in the village of Kharagonis. Then traveled to Daron and Alashgerd, studying the country and preaching revolution. Teacher in Igdir/Iğdır, 1886-89. Village teacher in Uchkilise/Üçkilise near Alashgerd in 1889 and ordained a priest the same year in the Sourp Hovhanou or St. John’s Monastery. Monk at Terig Monastery near Salmast and ARF activist, 1891-93. Then vicar to the prelate of Gars/Kars, and vicar to the prelate of Aleksandrapol (Alexandropol/Gyumri). Vicar to the prelate of Kantsag in 1897. Member of the Synod in 1901. Died in Baku.

Bottom: Kemakhetsi Keri (1865-1903) – Roupen Shishmanian. Native of Yerznga/Erzincan. Among the pioneers of the Armenian revolution. Member of the group led by Kalousd Arkhanian. Then joined the ranks of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. Participated in the Second General ARF Convention, 1898. Was a strong proponent of Armenian-Kurdish collaboration, especially with natives of Dersim. Hanged June 10, 1903.
